Paragliding club Zagreb was founded on 10 May 2002. The basic idea behind starting the club was to provide a safe environment for free flying, to advance the flying skills of pilots, and to encourage them to take part in paragliding competitions. The club was founded by pilots who had previously been members of different flying clubs. The club aims to be an easy-going, high-quality, successful and long-lasting paragliding club whose members enjoy flying and fly safely. Since the club does not run a pilot training centre, paragliding pilot training is organised with the help of the paragliding school run by Aeronautical club ParaFreek.
Club meetings are held every second and fourth Friday at 8.30 p.m. in the local council building Staro Trnje at 128 Trnjanska cesta, Zagreb.
Club activities: Encourage and support the members to achieve pilot ratings and fly safely and independently. Organise appropriate support for members who wish to progress in a specific segment of the sport. Organise flying trips, meet people and see places, enjoy nature and support its preservation. Particularly support the competition aspect of flying and take part in competitions – following the maxim “the important thing is to participate” and respecting the rules of fair play. Continue to work on developing and promoting the paragliding in Zagreb as well as in the rest of the country.
